I Hate Mondays!

Is it just me, or do Mondays seem to be the most depressing day of the week? If you had trouble waking up this morning, you are not alone. And if you are struggling to find a reason to smile, that’s not uncommon either. Mondays should be depressing. The memory of a fun weekend still fresh in the mind, returning to all the problems left behind on Friday and the endless expanse of time until next weekend. Surely Mondays are the most depressing day of the week?
When I wake up on Monday mornings, it usually feels like a bus ran over my head. And it takes a lot of will power to throw off the covers and get myself out of my comfy bed.
For me, I think this is because, of all the days of the week, Sunday night seems to be the hardest for me to fall asleep. After all, I get to bed late on Friday and Saturday nights…and then I have to get back into my weekly routine of waking up at 5 a.m. And it’s difficult for my body to abruptly change sleep schedule like this — let alone on a weekly basis. Mondays can also be depressing for people because the whole week is stretched before them — and they know it will be another five days before the weekend.
